Set on a plateau, this project creates an informal gathering place for friends and family to relax, prepare food and enjoy meals together. The exposed beam roof structure extends to create a sheltered outdoor dining area and a front entry with benches. An open kitchen encourages easy and frequent use. Local reclaimed cedar was handcrafted into a large central table used for rolling out pizza dough or lively dinner conversation.
The 770 sf interior space opens out to an expansive deck overlooking the forest and water. A fenced-in kitchen garden attached to the south side of the structure allows for harvesting fresh vegetables, herbs and cut flowers. The combined use of cedar and metal siding provides an informal and welcoming look.
